2016 Kia Soul Earns IIHS Top Safety Pick Award

The 2016 Kia Soul has earned the 2016 Top Safety Pick Award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. This is one of the best awards a vehicle can earn as far as safety goes. The Soul earned the top score of "good" in all five IIHS crash tests:

Small overlap front crash: Top Score of Good

Moderate overlap front: Top Score of Good

Side: Top Score of Good

Roof Strength: Top Score of Good

Head Restraints and Seats: Top Score of Good

In their detailed report, IIHS Crash Testers observed that the dummy's space was well maintined in accidents, and measures taken from the dummy indicate low risk of significant injuries in significant crashes.

The 2016 Kia Soul has standard safety options including dual seat airbags and full-length side curtain airbags, ABS brakes, rear-child safety door locks, lower anchors and tethers for children (LATCH) and more. Optional safety equipment includes forward collsion warning, and lane departure warning. They serve as an extra set of eyes helping you get from point A to point B. With lane departure warning, the Soul will alert you with visual and audio warning alarms when you've swayed out of your lane without using the turn signals.

With forward collision warning, sensors in front of the vehicle are watching what's happening ahead of you, and you'll be alerted if a front-end collision seems imminent. All of this is Kia's way of keeping you and your family safe on the road.

Other safety options include rearview camera, hands-free Bluetooth and more.

The 2016 Kia Soul features new style and technology packages for options like leather, navigation and panoramic sunroof at a lower price than before.
